I would give NO stars if i could. PLEASE DON'T go to this woman. I'm so sorry I went to this woman. This "DR" wasted my time & energy. I'm disabled, & my limited mobility, severe pain, & fatigue make it hard for me to travel especially when its cold. I went to this "DR" she was nice at first. Then I had to spend time explaining to her what I had, which I did in a friendly manner. She should have known all of this. She then tells me I have to many issues to to deal with, she won't handle them all. She then proceeds to tell me she is scaling down her practice, so why did your staff let me schedule a new patient appointment? She then gives referral to a Nurse Practitioner, who I found out later wasn't accepting new patients. I only stayed calm & quiet b/c I needed refills of my meds & that's all she did. Overall, she is a horrible "DR", to treat me the way she did, brushing me off to another NP, telling me I have too much stuff wrong with me, as if I don't know. She made me feel like a burden, treated like I wasn't human. Has NO EMPATHY & she is judgmental. Don't plan on going to her office, you will REGRET it.

I was elated to find Dr. Terry Jan Blackett-Bonnett (TJBB) in 2021 - a Black/African-American female doctor. But after 2+ years of strange behavior, hostility, and disorganization, I left. My first in-person visit went well. She was relatable and I liked her a lot. As I went through my list of important medical history, she didn't want me to overload with more than 4 or 5 concerns to ensure she could address each. She said the one I ended with (RA) was the one I should've started with. I chuckled at the candor. Unfortunately, it was downhill from there. - During our virtual follow-up call, she hung up while I was still speaking. It was so strange and offputting that I chucked it up to her being called away abruptly to an emergency. - The gynecologist she vehemently recommended had several disconcerting reviews from female patients. She pushed, but I opted to maintain my current gyn. - The office never returned phone calls no matter how many messages you left. - That front desk/nurse tech was hostile. Over the course of several visits, I observed her being selectively pleasant to Dr. TJBB, men, and certain patients, and barking at children and others like they were trash. Literal trash. I had to match her hostility with a strong tone to let her know I would not be bullied. - When I returned for an in-person visit in Dec 2022, I met with Deanna first (the nursing/medical assistant) then Dr. TJBB at the end. Deanna was hasty, rushed, and inaccurate in her note taking. I had to correct several things (such as her noting I had an eye exam scheduled for that day when it was a dental visit). She was also dismissive about a few medical concerns I had that SHE didn't think were important, such as my concern about my lung health from repeated unavoidable exposure to second-hand smoke. She told me my lungs sounded good, but when Dr. TBJJ checked and mentioned a murmur, Deanna lied and said she noticed it and logged it although she hadn't. When Dr. TJBB was in the room, Deanna's disposition was friendlier and more patient, but that's not the care I received. There were other issues, but final straws for me were: - when Deanna asked if I ever had an xyz procedure. Apparently, there were no records of it, although Dr. TJBB is the one who referred me to "the one she entrusts to her family" during my first visit. I met the referral right there in her office! - when I shared with Dr. TJBB that the RA had turned around, she acted like she was hearing about it for the first time and asked me to have that doctor send over my records although we did that during the first visit 2 years ago and discussed it. 😳

I went to this doctors office for a few months last year and had some of the worst medical experiences of my life. At first, Terry was helpful and kind and incredible attentive. My first negative experience came with a nutritionist at this office who said some of the craziest things I’ve ever heard. She told me that fruit was “poison” wrapped in sugars and to never eat fruit because it’s so unhealthy. She pushed several insane ideas about food that leaned heavily towards disordered eating rhetoric, including telling me I could stand to lose 100 pounds (more than half my body weight). I wish I could say that this was a joke but no— it really happened!!!! I did tell her that the language she used was very dangerous especially considering the office saw younger people who may have eating disorders already. My worst experience came when Doctor Blackett Bonnett refused to fill my prescription for birth control. I had been on oral contraceptives for 5 years at the time and I was asking for a routine refill. Doctor Blackett Bonnett told me she would not prescribe “medication like candy” which I do understand, but I had been on this medication for years at this point and it’s a standard medication for people my age to be on. She yelled at me over the phone and was incredibly rude, citing my sexual history against me and as a reason she wouldn’t prescribe the medication to me. I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior from a doctor, and was shocked to experience this in 2024 from a female doctor. It was deeply upsetting. This happened in Spring of 2024 and it was actually my new doctor who recommended that I write a review to let other people know about this experience before going here. I am sure that there are patients who have positive experiences with this doctor but I would recommend that young women especially avoid this practice.

I’ve been waiting for this appointment for over a month. When I got there early for my appointment I sat there for hours until I decided to change my PCP in the office and leave the building. I got a block away and she called telling me to come back because I was just about to be seen. When I came back I still had to wait five minutes for her to hastily turn over the room, but when I went into the room where I was going to be seen it was not at all what I expected. It smelled horrible in there. It was not clean, not organized. As soon as she and I got into the room, she was breathless and clearly not ready for what I needed her for. I fully doubt she could’ve helped me anyway. After we get into the same room I saw everyone else go into, she started telling me she that she just treated two refugee children (which is ethically amazing), but that they were completely unvaccinated and unregistered, and treated in that same room. That room was nasty, and now I’m realizing why it took so long. They only seem to use one room. The office was nasty and the fact that there were so many workers, but none of them could even do something as basic as take my vitals and set me up for treatment in another room was insane. Sitting in a waiting room with screaming children for hours with her bopping in and out giving me the “hold on” finger without me knowing who she was, is insane. Her coming out and then standing at the front desk for 5 minutes without saying anything to me after giving me a finger for hours before I decided she wasn’t worth it and I didn’t feel comfortable with her treating me, is insane. I initially booked this doctor because it was in a part of town that was semi accessible for me but now I see why she has the reviews that she has and I hope that a more hygienic and communicative doctor takes this space for the community.

Dr. Bonnett has been my medical doctor for many years. She is knowledgeable, passionate, and non-judgmental; all the qualities needed in a health care provider. Her staff is phenomenal, always ready to be of service. I feel lucky to have her. The wait may be lengthy sometimes. Its because she is giving A-1 service. Be patient and realize you are in the hands of a true professional 😊
