  I'm really surprised by the horrible ratings here. All staff are super nice. I tend to come after work, so while I believe the reviews here that they waited long, assuming it's in the morning, in my 3 years here not once I waited more than 15 minutes. The doctor is just an old school NYer and I can see how he can come off tough and rough but never he was disrespectful to me and or had I issues with the work he does (only one fixing of an old filling in 3 years and cleanings every 6 months + correctly referred to me to a surgeon once) I usually only leave reviews to places I regularly visit once I'm done or move away but every time I bike over and put his loc on maps, I keep seeing his worsening rating so this is my take... 🤷‍♂️ I just hope people keep coming and this place stays open bc not many take my 💩 insurance.

  Dr. Steven Backer is extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming. My son and I had an appointment, and he demanded a full set of X-rays just for a basic cleaning. He didn’t even floss between our teeth, rushed through the visit, and did the bare minimum. On top of that, we had to wait nearly two hours before being seen. This was one of the worst dental experiences I’ve had, and I would not recommend him to anyone.

  Came across this place when I was walking my dogs. I have another dentist but her receptionist never follows up on the periodontist appointment and when she did my fillings, she didn't even use the teeth sensitivity spray that Dentist use and my teeth were so sensitive to cold after her fillings so I had to go back twice for her to fix it ,so I decided to try this place down the street from my apt.. I want my tooth fixed before Christmas. I end up getting Dr. Backer. He wasn't rude. He addressed me straightforward. I told him what I wanted what I needed and he gave me the timeline & his receptionist put in the paperwork really quick to get my crown fixed, it was approved within a week. Normally I have to follow up myself so I really appreciated the quickness so today I got my back crown temporarily fixed. He filed down my tooth. It was excruciating, but that's how dental work is and made an impression for the crown. I have another appointment on the 28th Dr. Backer I'd say is pretty straightforward, which I appreciate. he's a good dentist just runs behind so if make an appointment be prepared to be there for hour or two even if you're on time..

  DO NOT COME HERE! Worst dental place. Disrespectful, rude, inconsiderate, and aggressive. I’ve been serviced by both dentists DR. STEVEN BACKER and DR. DUNG NGUYEN. Both of them are very rude, aggressive and disrespectful. God forbid you have any questions to ask they will ignore you, shrug their shoulders or tell you to stop complaining. Dr. Nguyen and his dental assistant are extremely aggressive. Nguyen gave me neck pain back in June of 2023 when I came for a fill in. The way he aggressively kept turning my neck. Even after I told him he was hurting me. Then told me to stop complaining. Today I had my appointment with Dr. Backer. He completely shrugged his shoulders and ignored me when I asked him questions regarding my fill in. When he did finally respond he told me that there’s nothing he can do for the pain in my teeth. He will not replace the fill in. The fill in is over 10 years old and has been giving me problems for years now. The dental assistant Jovey was there and was the only person who made me feel a little comfortable being there. Don’t even get started on the wait. Poor time management. My appointment was for 1pm, I didn’t get seen till 2pm. I even arrived 20 mins early to my appointment. My entire appointment was recorded on my phone and will be sent to the department of Health! They need to be shut down!

  RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL STAFF. THE OWNER AND DENTIST STEVEN BACKER IS DISRESPECTFUL AND DISGUSTING. REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT ME WHILE IM ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT MY TEETH. YOURE MY DENTIST AND YOUR MAKING FEEL UNWELCOMED AND UNCOMFORTABLE. WHEN HE DID FINALLY TURN TO SPEAK TO ME, HE SHRUGGED GIS AHOULDER FOR EVERY QUESTION I ASKED. I ASKED IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR EMPLOYEES TO TREAT CLIENTS HE SAID “ABSOLUTELY”! DO NOT COME HERE. THEY WILL ALSO GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND TO GET AS MUCH MONEY FROM YOU AS POSSIBLE. THEY HAVE 2 STARS FOR A REASON. I ALSO REPORTED THEM TO THE DOH
