Honestly, one of the best physical therapy experiences I’ve ever had. Not only are the people very friendly, but I’ve never had an issue with billing or insurance on like so many other practices in NYC. From my initial consultation with G, to my multiple follow up sessions with Lolline, Alex, and Michelle, it’s been an amazing experience during my rehab rehabilitation. They always find a way to get you in and are incredibly flexible unless you are very rigid. I would definitely come here anytime I need.

I would actually give STARS two and a half stars (no pun intended!) if that were possible. In all honesty, I'm surprised that most of their reviews are so good. I've been going to STARS for a couple of months to get PT for a back issue. It's not terrible or anything, but it's also nothing special and I liked my last PT place more. But it's all about the Benjamins, as they say. I have to go to a place that takes my insurance as I don't make enough money to pay out of pocket. My complaints about STARS are that they book EXTREMELY far in advance, they don't always give me the same physical therapist and they pack you in like sardines. At the last place I went to, I always saw the same person and it wasn't quite as crowded. So this feels like assembly line physical therapy. Having said that, I know that assembly line medicine PT is not unique to STARS. If anything, given that America's healthcare system barely functions at all, I'm surprised when I DON'T get assembly line medicine these days. As for the physical therapists themselves, I've seen several. Some are better than others and I'm not going to name the ones I like more or less. Again -- it's not like this place is awful or anything. But if I had the money and was able to, I would probably go someplace else.

My wife cannot get in to this place without assistance as it has several stairs to get in and she depends on a walker. She needs help getting in and out. Therapist notes do not coincide with the reality of the PT. She is only getting worse. I don't think the PT even read the Dr.s notes, ie "no neck manipulation". The female PT tried to do just that. Please ....if you go there because it's the only place that takes your insurance, advocate for yourself and get copies of their case notes. In this case, they are falsified, or made to sound like she is "doing so much better" than the prior week. This patient is getting worse. It is disturbing to me that she has to go through months of this insanity to get insurance to approve an MRI. She has severe scoliosis and needs major surgery (I have the same condition, need surgery that requires "rods, pins and screws" or I will be in a wheelchair, probably within a year). This is a sad and painful process that cannot be fixed with PT services from the likes of the providers at St. Marks site.

Very professional. The therapists kept track of my progress. Great improvements to strength, comfort and range. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

This is a great place that’s been there for decades and is attached to a sports medicine doctor’s office. They are separate operations but also easy to communicate with. I have worked with the doctor and have been going for physical therapy for years. I have worked with virtually every therapist there and they are all good. They have two excellent women therapists! And everyone at the front desk is calm and pleasant and helpful. They are under pressure to see many patients like every place these days, but they are thorough and kind, and the place runs smoothly and it’s tidy and friendly.
