Would give zero stars if I could. Rehab was excellent. And there are some caring people working there. Guy at the front desk is an angel. But most aides and nurses are lazy. The doctor changed her meds without speaking to me, and the GI doc wanted to send her for a colonoscopy for a test that was 6 weeks old. With the way they ignore toileting needs, I can’t even imagine what the bowel prep would have been like. My mother’s dietary needs and orders were ignored- BY THE KITCHEN MANAGER! She was frequently left to sit in wet/soiled diapers and it took them three weeks to give her a shower, and that was only after I demanded that they do so. My mom has dementia and does not know to ring the call bell so most days they parked her in the dining room and ignored her. Then there are the shady business practices. I asked the Medicaid coordinator to assist with applying for MSP benefits. I was very clear that she did not qualify for MLTC because of her assets. I have emails to prove this. Coordinator ignored this, applied for Medicaid and failed to disclose that she had assets. I’m still trying to fix this. Stay away unless you can be there daily to advocate for your loved one. Even then it’s no guarantee. These folks are sleazy.

Family member had a wonderful experience with the New York Center for Rehabilitation. The staff is attentive, the facility is clean and well-organized, and the care they provide is truly compassionate. A special thank you to Moshe, who stood out with his patience and genuine care for the residents. He goes above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable. His presence truly makes a difference. Highly recommend this nursing home for anyone looking for quality care in a supportive environment.

Best decision we ever made for our mom, Aron. She’s an immigrant and barely speaks English, but the CNAs and nurses learned “hello” and “how are you” in her language on day one. Now they greet her by name, sit with her during meals, and join her card games she laughs more here than at home. Place is spotless, food is fresh (real chicken soup!), and they call us with updates. Feels like family. Highly recommend

Don’t believe the brochure or website for New York Center for Rehabilitation Care for a minute! This place is so outdated that I’m sure it hasn’t been updated since it opened in 2002. The rooms are dismal and dirty. The decor is dull. The worst most egregious part is that the food is utterly inedible. Obviously from a can or previously frozen and not fresh in the least. Just horrible. Patients need to eat to support not only their daily life but any medication that they’re on. Lastly, the nurses can’t even seem to get the medication dosages right. Every single day some one screwed up and the excuse was “Oh it’s my first day.” Didn’t that person pay attention in pharmacology class in nursing school? In conclusion, if you wish to stay alive and be at your best do not go to this place. Run screaming.
