Patient reviews

I had a bad initial review of Mount Sinai behavioral health but because my Psychiatrist is very caring and has great bedside manner I will update my review and give them 5 stars they did make things right once I got my insurance fixed. I will say this the system with health insurance in the mix really makes getting help for mental health very difficult. I’m glad I was able to get things fixed and have a great caring psychiatric provider. So because of my good experience this month I have changed my review to be positive. The location is very clean and staff on the second floor is very friendly and helped me get a primary care doctor at this location so thank you to the team on the second floor.

I just received a letter from MSRivington to inform me that I will not be seen as a patient, even though I am a former patient for years. The reason they stated was that I missed a few appointments. I contacted MSRivington and spoke to a clerk and explained that I was having surgical procedures. And also did a follow up on MyChart. Which evidently no one reads. Then on FRIDAY, March 27th I rec'd the letter. Withdrawing me from the program. Well I had a stent surgery on Thursday the 26th at MS Morningside which my cardiologist said was definitely needed. It's a shame that the MS Rivington location for being such a fairly new facility treats it's former patients like this. Especially a patient who always tries to get through for an. Appointment when the phone is never answered. And also to be dropped because I needed stent surgery and couldn't make an appointment is ridiculous. DO BETTER, then you wonder why people leave negative comments. P.S. also the two sheets of useless psychology programs were addressed to the wrong patient. How can you put the correct address on the envelope but the incorrect name on the info sheets. 🤔

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend the psychiatry department based on my experience. I worked with two doctors and often felt unheard. It was hard to get in touch with anyone, calls to the front desk were often unanswered or dropped, and getting a callback was difficult. When my doctor was out of the office, I sometimes felt unsure about who was actually covering my care. The office itself is clean and pretty at least

The staff here was extremely helpful in an emergency situation with our grandson in the Dec.-Jan. time frame as we reside out of state. Thank you so much for the care you gave him! We are very grateful.

I went in pretty willingly to get help with my drinking. The staff was so loud at night, so sleeping was hard, the men were loud and obnoxious, and would comment on my body and what I ate. They give you HUGE portions to eat here, and if you don't eat it all you feel uncomfortable. There seemingly was no one there that wanted to talk about drinking and recovery- I was thrown into a bin of wanderers who were loud, obnoxious, and didn't even care so long as they were getting fed and could play dominos. I left early after being triggered about my weight. I didn't come here for that. I came to get help with drinking. The staff also seemed arrogant and generally disinterested. This place makes you crave food, because there's so many clocks and only so many wordsearchs you can do... And coloring pages...? Pass. The headphones were nice though. If it's your fist time going to detox, don't come here. It was like a high school for wayward children where everyone is loud and fights over crayons. Go somewhere if money allows that's private and really pin points why your there.
